Hypercalcemea, calcium in the blood, calcification

CALCIFICATION IS THE BIGGEST CAUSE OF HEART FAILURE & HERE’S HOW TO REVERSE IT

Unfortunately, and sadly, there seems to be some general rules of medicine that we have forgotten. Our modern lifestyles and reliance on supplements and medication is leading us into a tangle of issues and one of these is too much calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia).

There is also a tendency in the medical profession to simply and blindly prescribe drugs that are believed to treat the symptoms and not the cause and so are in fact then prescribing drugs and supplements that make matters worse, rather than better.

Mild early Symptoms

The symptoms of low levels of hypercalcemia can range from head aches, constant thirst, constant need to urinate, swelling, water retention, lack of mobility, lack of energy, confusion, upset stomach, nausea, constipation and bone pain.

Yet left untreated, Hypercalcemia can lead to renal insufficiency, kidney stones and many other mental health issues like dementia.

Calcium can build up all over the body including the brain and heart blocking the valves (the muscles of the heart) and the blood vessels of the heart, which can also lead to cardiovascular disease.

Check the blood

A simple blood test by your physician is recommended to confirm the calcium levels in your body. If it turns out that you are suffering from high calcium levels, there are some important steps you should take to get your levels back where they belong (see more below).

Drugs and Calcium supplements

It saddens me to see people diagnosed with “osteopenia” or “osteoporosisusing the wrong type of calcium supplements and in my time practicing nephrology and internal medicine, I saw numerous patients suffering from vascular disease, whilst taking the recommended Calcium dosage.

Even worse is taking the more problematic drugs like bisphosphonates, the long-term use of which has been associated with atypical femur fractures, osteonecrosis of the jaw and esophageal cancer.

X-rays revealed perfect outlines of calcified blood vessels and calcified heart valves.

As you can see the artery is not straight as it should be, but curly and twisted, which puts excessive pressure on the heart as these types of calcifications, occur in the large arteries of the entire body, not just the breasts.

What causes so much calcium to build up in the blood?

The route cause of Hypercalcemia can often be put down to 4 simple factors:

  • Not drinking enough water
  • Poor levels of good calcium in the diet
  • Calcium supplements and pharmaceutical drugs
  • Not enough exercise

Hypercalcemia can also be brought on as a secondary result of some medical conditions, including cancer, tuberculosis, sarcoidosis and less frequently Hodgkin Lymphoma. For more on how to treat cancer, please see this section

But the good news is that an early diagnosis can mean you address these issues early on.

Natural ways to deal with Hypercalcemia

Drink more water It is essential to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day. At a minimum. This amount always shocks my patients, but your liver and kidneys need flushing through in order to best function. Same goes for the blood. We are 70% water, so its no wonder we need a lot of it.

A Coca cola, or a Sprite is not a drink. Sugary carcinogenic drinks are making this situation far worse and so DRINK LOTS OF WATER. It’s as simple as that, just remember to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Aslo add lemon to aid your liver function.

Eat the right type of Calcium

Calcium is an essential mineral. It builds and maintains strong bones and teeth. It helps with muscle function, as well as cell functions such as communication and signalling.

This may seem absurd, but paradoxically: A diet low in calcium contributes to higher calcium in the blood.

If there isn’t enough Calcium coming the natural route, which is from the foods we eat, then your body will trigger your bones to release calcium into the blood. It will also tell your digestive tract to absorb more and your kidneys to excrete less calcium.

Minimum Recommended Daily Allowance of Calcium: 1,000 mg/day

Eating a variety of grains and legumes will help prevent your body from absorbing too much calcium, thanks to the phytic acid in these foods. Beans and wheat germ will do the most for reducing calcium, so try incorporating a variety of these into your diet.

Calcium Supplements

Calcium supplements can be very dangerous and many on the market are simply chalk. Calcium orotate is the most highly absorbed calcium supplement.

Extensive research by the late German doctor Hans A. Nieper, M.D. found that orotate molecules are the most efficient carriers of calcium, magnesiumlithium, and other ions in the body.

Orotates can cross the cell membrane, delivering the mineral ion to the innermost layers of the cell, reaching the mitochondria and nucleus.

Other calcium supplements, such as calcium carbonate, citrate, gluconate, lactate, malate, and phosphate, cannot penetrate into the membranes as orotates can, or are broken up in the digestive tract.[12]

If you feel you must take Calcium as a supplement, then make sure you swap calcium stearate for orotate and stick to the Minimum Recommended Daily Allowance of Calcium: 1,000 mg/day

Reduce Phosphates

Because hypercalcemia can be caused by overactive parathyroid glands, decreasing the amount of phosphates in your body is especially crucial to restore a proper level of calcium. Foods that are high in phosphate, and thus important to avoid or reduce, include:

  • Most dairy products (milk, cheese, butter, yogurt)
  • Chocolate
  • Cereals
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Eggs
  • Chicken
  • Lentils
  • Carbonated beverages
  • Soy products
  • Whole grains

Chaste Tree

This herb, with a botanical name of vitex agnus castus, is crucial for treating high calcium levels because it helps regulate the parathyroid gland.

Recommended dosage is 500-1000 mg every day.

Lifestyle Changes to Reduce Hypercalcemea

Incorporate exercise into your routine and keep your body flowing and moving. Our bodies where designed to keep moving and our lymphatic system relies on it.

Strength-training and weight-bearing exercises are the best for keeping your body healthy overall.

If you smoke, then stop. Pure and simple.

EDTA Chelation

The problem with EDTA Chelation is that less people are aware of its benefits. A search through the medical literature of the past will turn up no less than 1,554 mentions of Chelation therapy and is one of the best guarded secrets of the health world.

As well as clearing calcification, it also also clears heavy metals. It is a very successful treatment method that is non invasive (apart from a little pinch) is pain free and when done correctly has an instant recovery.
