CONFUSED WHAT YOU CAN EAT WHEN YOU HAVE CANCER?

Finding the right diet whilst your body is sick can be overwhelming. So here is a list of researched foods that you can eat. As well as the ones to avoid.

Ginger:  Like many tubers, ginger used to detoxify.  It increases circulation, detoxifies the liver, and stimulates the immune system.  She also soothes inflammation of the intestinal tract .  What’s not to love about this ?

Radish:   In just the past 10 years, scientists have discovered a plant defensin in radishes they named RsAFP2 that destroys mold and yeast on the cellular level and help fight cancer.

Garlic:    Not only is this solution gentle on your pocket book – as opposed to synthesized pharmaceutical treatments that are both expensive and have delayed results – it can usually bring about changes within just a few hours.  Garlic naturally inhibits the growth of molds, cancers and yeasts.  In fact, it contains allyl alcohol, which utterly destroys yeast… like a beast.  Trust me, you need to eat garlic.  Garlic soup is amazing.

Onions:  Like garlic, onions have a detoxifying effect on the body and are highly anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic. Another great thing about onions is that they flush excess fluids from the body.  This is great because a lot of cancer patients suffer from water retention.  Go for the stronger-tasting and most intense-smelling onions – they pack a mightier punch against fungus.

Herbs

Cilantro:  Eat this.  It might help you keep your friends after you’ve eaten the garlic and onions.  Not only will cilantro – also commonly known as Coriander – give you fresher breath, it will protect your body from further infection, and reduce the symptoms you experience from infection.  Cilantro is anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and it’s especially important to note that for those who have become infected due to an already existing disease (such as diabetes) or illness (low or damaged immune system), this unique little herb has proven to cause insulin-like activity, as well as improve and strengthen the immune system.

Basil:  This sweet-tasting,  herb can go in just about any dish.   Its potency against mold and yeast increases exponentially when made into an essential oil, but eating it fresh is much more appealing. Mold is linked to cancer.

Oregano:  Yet another tasty herb whose most common medicinal use today in fighting cancer!  Experts say that oregano (especially as an essential oil) – because of its carvacrol content – is 100 times more potent and effective than the caprylic acid.  And , it tastes great too!

Rosemary:  This little goodie is great on the tastebuds  It couldn’t hurt to throw her into the pot as well!

Thyme:  Pronounced as “time”  this is your friend against  infections that affect the lungs.  Best as an essential oil, but tasty and effective as a seasoning, thyme – like oregano – has large amounts of healing properties, such as carvacrol, and is one of your greatest allies in the fight against  infections.

Black Walnut:  It’s not the walnut itself but the the bark and husk that is ground down and used for natural healing.  The active ingredient in black walnut is juglone and it has been known to act as swiftly and as strongly as most over-the-counter anti-cancer remedies, if not better.  Juglone is not only anti-fungal but anti-biotic as well.  The other fungus fighting ingredients are called tannins.

Pau d’Arco:  Another tree bark derivative, pau d’arco helps loosen the bowels which is very beneficial to victims of cancer.  It also is intensely anti-fungal. It contains lapachol which should never be overlooked as a natural medicine.

Spices

Cinnamon:  It should really be called cinnassin because it is a mold and yeast assassin!  Cinnamon contains cinnamaldehyde, an extremely potent antifungal, antibacterial, and antioxidant agent.  Cinnamaldehyde – I’m seriously not making that title up – has been proven to attack and obliterate  infections.  That’s right, folks.  Sprinkle as much of this little hero as you want!

Cloves:  Like Rosemary, cloves may not be your anti-cancer hero, per se, but they will do some hefty damage to the side-effect symptoms you’re experiencing.  Cloves are antioxidant and antiseptic.  Just be sure not to give any to your pets or place it on their skin because it can be very toxic to them.

Cayenne Pepper:  Naturally supporting the digestive and immune system, cayenne pepper aids in food digestion, reduces constipation by cleansing the bowels of  toxins, and it increases metabolism and circulation which is definitely a plus since most victims constantly feel fatigued.  Repeat after me:  “Cayenne Pepper is my friend!”

Turmeric, Allspice, or Sage:  Although more research needs to be done, many claim that these three spices are an excellent source for natural anti-cancer battling, especially if used topically or infused into teas.

Oils

Coconut Oil:  This oil is the star of anti-fungal oils.  Its lauric and caprylic acids that kill off most molds and yeasts and also boost the immune system.  Coconut oil is also one of the most versatile oils and anti-cancer solutions out there.  Not only can you rub it on affected areas of the skin or just use it as a daily lotion, you can cook and bake with it (it’s a very stable oil for most temperatures), use it in your hair as a conditioner, eat it plain, or use it for oil-pulling (a trending method these days that involves swishing a spoonful of coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes before spitting it out, which helps removes toxins and bacteria from the body).

Olive Oil:  Within this gem of antiquity and modern-day cooking and healing is contained a plant chemical named Oleuropein (all-your-pee-in…  sounds nice, doesn’t?).  This chemical has powerful anti-fungal properties and has proven to stimulate the immune system specifically in response to cancer.  Another important note:  Olive oil helps stabilize blood sugars, which is incredibly important in stopping mold and yeast growths because they thrive in high-sugar conditions.

Greens & Legumes

Green Leafy Vegetables (of all kinds):  Lettuce, incorporating lettuce and other greens such as spinach and cabbage are going to help you not only expel toxins through the intestines, but also cleanse the rest of your body and help the other anti-cancer foods you eat, work their magic.  Like all plants, greens are naturally anti-cancerous and while they may not be as intense at it like radishes or garlic, they most-certainly make a difference.

Dried or Frozen Legumes:  Beans, beans, the musical fruit!  The more you eat the more you… fight off that cancer brute?  Actually, beans, you will need to eat them in moderation (at least until your illness is cleared up).  Don’t overdo it , for your sake – healthfully and… uh, socially.  Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), red lentils, organic soybeans, split peas, and black-eyed peas – these are just a few of the legumes you can safely consume right now.  High fiber, high protein is what you’re aiming for but remember, not daily and not over-portioned.

Nuts & Seeds

Safe nuts and seeds to consume:  Brazillian nuts, for liver cancer Brazil nuts have the highest selenium, it nourishes the liver, hazelnut (no, not Nutella spread!), almonds, cashews, Macadamia nuts, flax seed, coconut meat, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pecans, poppy seeds, pine nuts, and pumpkin seeds.  These nuts and seeds are more or less on neutral ground and are safe to consume while on a strict cancer-fighting diet.

Gluten-Free Grains

Safe Breads & “Cereals”:  (ONLY GLUTEN-FREE VERSIONS) of millet, oat bran, buckwheat, and quinoa.  (and most of their products like crackers and flour) are high fiber and help move and pull toxins out of your body.  Go ahead, indulge a little.

Flour:

Cassava flour is high in B17 which is known to help cancer patients. Spelt, Bean, flax seed, almond and coconut flour are good to use.

Vegetables in General

As stated earlier, all plants are anti-cancer to some degree, so it is imperative that – for the time-being, until you have healed – you eat a mostly-vegetarian diet.  The best vegetables for cancer victims are (alphabetically listed for you A-types out there):

  • Artichokes
  • Asparagus
  • Avocado
  • Beetroot
  • Broccoli
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Cabbage
  • Celery
  • Cucumber
  • Eggplant
  • fermented veg
  • Garlic (raw)
  • Kale
  • Olives
  • Onions
  • Rutabaga
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Zucchini

These vegetables are non-starch, which means that they do not turn into the sugary goodness that cancers thrive off of when digested by your stomach.  Essentially, by eating mostly these vegetables, you will be starving the cancer right out of your body.  Don’t feel bad, cancer would do the same thing to you.

FOODS TO AVOID:

If you have a cancer of any kind, it is important that in addition to seeking professional  help, you also begin battling the cancer by avoiding certain foods and drinks.  If cancer within the body is not fed what it needs to survive, it will stop growing and eventually starve to death  (common sense prevails here!).

Experts highly suggest that victims avoid the following at all costs:

Sugar:  Whether it’s white, brown, or a healthier choice, such as coconut sugar, when it comes to cancer, if it’s sweet-tasting at all, it’s sugar and sugar feeds cancer’ best friend.  It’s going to be difficult – it may even feel downright impossible – but until the cancer has gone, you need to say goodbye to sugar in all its forms such as:  white sugar, brown sugar, healthy sugar alternatives (coconut flakes, fruit-derived sugars), aspartame and splenda (diet sodas & “sugar-free” foods), maple syrup, molasses, and even honey.  Basically, stay away from fructose, lactose, maltose, glucose, mannitol, and sortbitol.

Processed Foods:  Anything in a can, box, or bottle has been processed and is not considered a “whole food.”  Whole foods are either not processed (changed, altered, added to, or manipulated) or they have only 1 to 2 alterations before reaching the grocery store (such as nuts being shelled, for instance).  Most everything that is per-packaged will contain sugar or some additive for “freshness” that acts as a sugar in the body and will feed the cancer.

You need to kill the cancer before it kills you.  The bad news is that you not only have to give up sugar, you also have to give up those quick-and-easy meals and snacks, as well. The good news?  Well, aside from regaining your health and ridding yourself of merciless, opportunistic cancer cells, you may even shed a few unwanted pounds and have a reason to go shopping!  Before you get excited, let’s take a look at just some of the processed foods you now need to be avoiding:

Canned foods – Most sauces, baked beans (because of the sugar added during cooking), nearly all soups.

Bottled foods – All soft drinks (even diet), all fruit juices (even homemade), most condiments.

Boxed or Packaged foods – microwaveable or oven-ready meals, nearly all breakfast cereals, all chocolate, all candy, all ice cream, and most frozen foods.

Foods  Containing Yeast or Mold:    Cancer gets lonely.  It’s in the mood for like-minded neighbors.  Don’t give it a friend.  Stay away from dairy!  No milk, no sour cream, no buttermilk, no butter, and worst of all?  Cheese.  Don’t eat cheese, but if you must, don’t even think about touching Stilton cheese.

Alcoholic Drinks:  Not only is alcohol a literal poison, it’s also one of cancers’ most beloved pals.  No wine, no beer, no cider, no brandy, no whiskey, no gin, no rum.  “But why is all the rum gone?!” you may ask.  The answer is simple: You’re not a pirate, you’re a loved one infected with cancer and someone, somewhere needs you alive and well and waiting at the hospital only to greet newborn grandchildren, not awaiting a death sentence.

Processed and Smoked Meats:  Hot dogs, smoked fish, ham, bacon, sausages, corned beef, pastrami…  Basically, if it doesn’t resemble the original animal, don’t eat it.  Have you tried veganism?  No, that salad suffocated by chicken strips doesn’t count.  Look, nobody’s judging you here, maybe you can’t be a vegan for the love of animals, but you most-certainly could be a vegan because you hate plants!  Give it a try or do a little research on where your meat comes from and how it’s made, for your own sake.

Edible Fungi:  Seriously?  cancer is related to Mold which is destroying your body and you want to eat its cousin?!  I already told you – no fungus friends!  No mushrooms, no truffles – don’t even think about it.

Condiments: Put down the ketchup…  and the mustard, too.  No condiments (or pickled foods) containing sugar or vinegar.  That’s right, get in the habit of saying, “Hold the mayo.”

Malt Products:  Say goodbye to breakfast cereals, Malt-O-Meal, candies, and that naughty chocolate malt shake you’ve been sneaking on Fridays after work.

Fruit Juices:  It’s no longer a trending rumour on social media sites, every single packaged fruit juice is a potential mold smuggler.  All packaged fruit juices may potentially contain molds. (Fresh fruit juices made in your home are the only ones you’re allowed to sneak, but do so in moderation because of the high sugar content.)

Dried Fruits:  Personally, I’m not at all disappointed by this one, are you?  No more dried raisins, apricots, prunes, figs, dates, etc.  Why?  Sugar, sugar, sugar.

Conclusion

All of these foods listed are just a small glimpse of the overall safe and cancer-fighting edible options you have.

Rule, if it tastes sweet do not eat. There are plenty more.  The key is to starve out the fungus – give it nothing to metabolize and aid in its growth. I hope you find the above useful.
